BOC Pak to invest Rs 214 mn on CO2 plant in Port Qasim
Karachi: The BOC Pakistan Limited will invest Rs 214 million for the installation of a 23-tons per day carbon dioxide (CO2) plant to be installed at Port Qasim, where the company already has a 100-tons per day air separation unit plant. This was approved by the board of directors of the company in its meeting held here on January 30.
According to a press release issued here, the project is expected to take seven months for completion and production is expected to commence around September. The investment will be funded through the company's own internal cash generation. This investment will enable BOCP to meet the growing demand of Co2, specifically in the beverage sector, and to capture other business opportunities in Pakistan.
BOCP is a leading industrial gas company in the country, which owns and operates various gas plants across the country, including a 60-ton per day Co2 plant at Multan, which was commissioned in 2004. BOCP is part of the Linde Group, which is a world's leading gases and engineering company with around 49,000 employees working in more than 70 countries worldwide.
