Construction of Bhogapuram Airport May Be Completed Before Deadline

GMR Airports aims to operationalise the Bhogapuram International Airport in the second quarter of the current financial year, significantly ahead of its earlier target of December 2026.

The company is expected to incur most of its capital expenditure in FY2026 and FY2027 on the Bhogapuram project, while its other airports will require only operational capex during this period. GMR Airports plans to spend around ₹700–800 crore in FY2027 to complete the remaining work on the airport.

As of March 2026, the Bhogapuram International Airport project had achieved 98.7% physical progress, with construction nearing completion and final commissioning activities underway ahead of commercial operations.

The project remains a key growth driver for GMR Airports, representing one of its most significant ongoing infrastructure investments.
