Cyber City Metro Deadlock Resolved; RRTS to Relocate Gates in Gurgaon.
After nearly a year of bureaucratic delays, the dispute over the location of the Cyber City Metro station is close to being resolved. The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has agreed to shift the entrance of its proposed Cyber City Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS) station, clearing the way for smoother project planning.
The RRTS station will still be built on HSIIDC land near Shankar Chowk, as per its Detailed Project Report (DPR), with only the orientation of the entry and exit gates changing. NCRTC is executing the RRTS project, while the Gurgaon Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) manages the city’s metro operations.
The RRTS station is planned in Sector 18, directly across from GMRL’s Cyber City Metro station, which will be constructed under Phase 2 of the metro project.
A senior GMRL official said the agreement provides the clarity needed to move forward. “Our priority is smooth integration between the new metro line and the RRTS station. With NCRTC agreeing to shift its station entrance away from Shankar Chowk, we can now plan the terminal station and freeze the alignment. NCRTC will share the detailed layout with HSIIDC,” the official added.
