Eight uplift projects completed in Jawzjan, Samangan

Mazare-ShaRref: Eight uplift projects are ready for utilization in Jawzjan and Samangan provinces which will benefit 1500 families.

Farid Ahmad, media affairs In charge for national solidarity program in northern zone said that five projects worth 5.5 million Afghani, provided by ministry of rural rehabilitation and development are ready for use in Mangajak district of Jawzjan province.

These projects include two 35kw generators and the construction of six small bridges to link villages to asphalted roads, approximately 1000 families will get advantage from these projects, he said.

Dad Mohammad, a local of Charangori village of Mangajak district told that one of these generators were installed in their village benefiting about 50 families.

He advised that the facility must be free of cost and should provide electricity for 12 hours daily.
Farid Ahmad said that 83 development projects are underway in about 31 villages of Mangajak district mostly about enhancing water supply and infrastructure installations, in which 40 of them have yet been completed and already benefit people.

Meanwhile, three developing projects funded by national solidarity program worth 4 million Afghani were ready for utilization in northern Samangan province.

Engineer Ahmad Javid, director of rural rehabilitation department in Samangan told this News Agency that one of these projects was the construction of a small hydro power station with 20kw capacity which will provide 24 hours electricity facility to more than 200 families of Ghazi Mard village of Khurram Saar Bagh district of Samangan province.

Qari Ibadullah a local of Ghazi Mard said that we used lanterns for enlightening our homes and now this was a great facility. This will not only help enlighten the entire area, but will also provide us the opportunity to entertain ourselves by electronic media, he said.

Hafizullah, Khurramabad district chief told that since the national solidarity program started in the region four years ago, 125 public interest projects worth 196 million Afghani have been accomplished in the area which helped about 8000 families. He continued that these projects included drinking water facility, water reservoirs, hydro power stations, and infrastructure and schools construction.

Two power dam projects are underway and are likely to be completed next year, will help 23000 families, Hafizullah claimed.

Director of Samangan rural rehabilitation department said that 14 more small bridges will be constructed on Syed Abdul Qadir Aibak Road in central Samangan, moreover 42 women will also get training in a six month long sewing course.

According to him 300 families will get benefit from these two projects.
