Haryana government has approved an expenditure of ₹1,028 crore for a wide range of development and infrastructure projects across more than 10 departments, according to an official statement issued recently.
The approvals were cleared at a meeting of the High-Powered Purchase Committee chaired by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. The projects span departments including the Haryana Police Housing Corporation, DHBVN, HSIIDC, PWD, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation, DMER, FMDA, GMDA, the Irrigation Department, and PHED.
The government said negotiations with bidders led to savings of approximately ₹96 crore. The Chief Minister directed officials to closely monitor project execution to ensure timely completion and adherence to quality standards, adding that he would personally review progress and that any negligence in development works would not be tolerated.
Several procurement decisions were also finalised, including purchases of 11-metre PCC poles, single-phase and three-phase net meters, and 25 KVA transformers. In addition, ₹29 crore was approved for commodity procurement under the supplementary nutrition programme as part of the ‘Har-Hith’ retail project of the Haryana Agro Industries Corporation.
Among key project approvals, ₹5.78 crore was sanctioned for implementing a Student and Faculty Life
Cycle Management System in government medical colleges, while ₹6.60 crore was cleared for survey work and preparation of a detailed project report for stormwater diversion from Gurugram towards the Yamuna river.
In infrastructure development, ₹47.20 crore was approved for a Home Guard and Civil Defence Training Centre in Karnal, and ₹17.75 crore for a master water supply scheme in Faridabad. A further ₹101 crore was allocated for a 665.5 MLD main pumping station in Gurugram.
Other approvals included ₹20 crore for the development of Atal Park in Panchkula, ₹109.80 crore for a shooting range sports complex in Sector-32, and ₹123.40 crore for an additional Common Effluent Treatment Plant and pumping station in Panipat’s industrial area.
In the health sector, ₹15.80 crore was sanctioned for a Community Health Centre in Danoda village in Jind district.
The meeting was attended by state ministers, senior bureaucrats, and top officials from multiple departments, the statement added.
