Hero MotoCorp Plans Aggressive Push into Scooters, High-End Motorcycles, and EV Market.

Hero MotoCorp is looking to strengthen its presence in fast-growing segments such as scooters, premium motorcycles and electric vehicles (EVs), where it currently has a relatively smaller footprint, according to Chief Executive Officer Harshvardhan Chitale.

The country’s largest two-wheeler maker is seeking to tap into higher-growth categories even as it maintains its leadership in overall volumes. Speaking during an analyst call, Chitale said the company recognises significant headroom for expansion in segments that are expanding at a quicker pace than its traditional commuter motorcycle base.

“While we take pride as a team in our volume leadership at Hero MotoCorp, we are all acutely aware of the opportunities that exist in some of the other categories, which are growing faster and where we are relatively under-represented,” he said.

Beyond domestic portfolio diversification, Hero MotoCorp also expects to widen its international footprint and scale up its parts and accessories business as part of its broader growth strategy.
