Speciality chemical conglomerate Himadri Speciality Chemical has initiated discussions with prospective global customers ahead of the commissioning of its proposed ₹1,130-crore plant in Odisha, which is scheduled to come on stream by the end of this year.

The Odisha facility will manufacture lithium iron phosphate (LFP), a key component used in lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles (EVs).

Anurag Choudhary, Chairman, Managing Director and CEO of Himadri Speciality Chemical, said the company has begun engaging with potential buyers in India and overseas and has started supplying product samples. “These prospective customers are located globally, including in the US and South Korea. These are mostly lithium-ion cell manufacturing companies.
