Indian Rail Major RITES Bags Global Order for Locomotives from South Africa.

ITES Limited, a leading transport infrastructure consultancy and engineering firm under the Ministry of Railways, has announced a major international contract win for the supply of rolling stock to South Africa.

The company has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from Ndalama Capital (Pty) Ltd., South Africa, to facilitate the supply and commissioning of in-service diesel-electric locomotives.

Contract Details and Financial Impact

The contract is valued at USD 35.2 million (approximately ₹295 crore). Under the terms of the agreement, RITES will be responsible for both the delivery and the technical commissioning of the locomotives, ensuring they are operational for the South African rail network.
