Jacobs wins engineering and project management consultancy contract from Petro Rabigh.

Located in the west of the kingdom, the project, named 'Bottom of the Barrel', converts oil residue steam from the crude distillation process into more profitable products.

In a statement, Jacobs said it expects to employ 150 full-time employees to deliver Feed and PMC work for the scheme over a two-year period.

A joint venture of Saudi Aramco and Sumitomo Chemical, refining and petrochemicals plant Petro Rabigh produces refined petrochemicals.

The win comes roughly a month after the Texas-based Jacobs reported increases in profit and revenues for Q4 2018.

Jacobs made $3.1bn in revenue during the three months, marking an increase on the $1.8bn earnings from Q4 2017. Operating profits climbed to $113m in Q4 2018.
