Mada Gypsum announces USD 66mn plant in Saudi.

Saudi based gypsum producer, Mada Gypsum Co. has announced the building of a new environmental friendly gypsum plant in Saudi Arabia.

The project is estimated at a cost of USD 66 million and is scheduled to commence operation in Q3 2016. The plant is expected to produce an annual capacity of approximately 30 million square meters of gypsum plasterboards and related gypsum based products and systems.

At present, the project is in the planning stage and will follow the principles under green development.

In addition, Mada Gypsum already operates two gypsum plasterboard lines in Yanbu on the western side of Saudi Arabia, with a combined capacity of 34 million square meters a year.

Setting up this new plant in Saudi Arabia plays a strategic role to market products in Africa and Europe in addition to the GCC.
