Maytas gets water supply contract
Hyderabad: Maytas Infra, a Hyderabad-based construction and infrastructure development company, has bagged the Godavari Drinking Water Supply Scheme project worth Rs 169.5 crore from the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB).
Maytas Infra will be executing the project in joint venture with Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and Kirloskar Brothers (KBL). The total value of the project is Rs 809.62 crore and Maytas Infra’s share is 20 per cent of the value (Rs 169.50 crore), according to the company press release.
The project will be executed in Kondapak and Ghanpur along the Karimnagar road near Hyderabad. The work entails transmission of 735 million litres per day (MLD) treated Godavari water from the clear water reservoir (CWR) at Kondapak to the master balancing reservoirs (MBRs) at Ghanpur. This will be done for a length of 58 kilometre through pipeline with all civil, electrical and mechanical components, the release added.
The scope of work of the contract involves construction of a clear water reservoir of 80 million litre (ML) capacity at Kondapak, a master balancing reservoir of 150 ML capacity at Ghanpur, electrical sub-station at Kondapak for the clear water pumping station, including required transformers with 100 per cent standby with associated appurtenances and power lines.
Maytas Infra was earlier awarded a Rs 44.88 crore contract for providing water supply distribution system in Gajuwaka area of Visakhapatnam district in by the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC). The Godavari Drinking Water Supply Scheme is the second water supply contract for Maytas Infra in 2008.
