Pakka Ltd of Ayodhya to Establish Compostable Packaging Unit in Guatemala.

Ayodhya-based sustainable packaging company Pakka Ltd. is establishing a unit in Guatemala to produce 400 tonnes of compostable packaging daily, targeting the North American market. The $340 million project, set to be the world's largest compostable packaging facility, will launch by late 2026 or early 2027.

Pakka has secured seed funding of $10-12 million for land acquisition and plans to raise $200 million in debt and $130 million in equity. CEO Ved Krishna highlighted interest from sugar companies, strategic partners, and customers to invest in the project.

Simultaneously, Pakka is relocating its R&D center from Bengaluru to Portland, USA, committing $5 million this year to innovation in sustainable materials like bagasse and nanocellulose. The company serves clients like McDonald's, Domino's, and Mars, focusing on replacing non-biodegradable packaging with regenerative solutions.

Pakka aims for 20x growth by 2030, with new products boosting revenue from its Ayodhya plant and global operations.
