PM Modi Set to Unveil ₹55,000 Crore Gujarat Development Projects, Including Reactors and Fibre Grid
During his visit to Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate or lay the foundation stones for projects worth ₹55,000 crore. This includes the launch of two new pressurised Heavy Water Reactors at Kakrapar Atomic Power Station and the inauguration of a new runway at the Indian Air Force Station in Deesa.
In North Gujarat's Mehsana, PM Modi will inaugurate the Indian Air Force runway, constructed at a cost of ₹394 crore. Located just 130 kilometers from the international border with Pakistan, this strategic airbase is expected to bolster land and sea operations along the western border.
Another highlight of the visit is the inauguration of the ₹2,042 crore Gujarat Fibre Grid Network project, aimed at connecting 8,030 gram panchayats with a 35,264-km-long high-speed internet network under the BharatNet Phase-2 initiative.
In South Gujarat's Navsari, PM Modi will dedicate two new pressurised Heavy Water Reactors at Kakrapar Atomic Power Station, built at an estimated cost of ₹22,500 crore. These reactors, with a combined capacity of 700 MW, mark a significant advancement in the state's energy infrastructure.
Additionally, PM Modi will unveil and lay the foundation stones for various segments of the Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway, currently under construction by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
The Prime Minister's visit underscores the government's commitment to infrastructure development and strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing connectivity, energy security, and overall development in the state of Gujarat.
