WABAG Secures $14M O&M Contract for Wastewater Treatment at Bahrain’s BAPCO Refinery.

VA TECH WABAG (WABAG), a global water technology company, has secured a $14 million (₹121 crore) operations and maintenance (O&M) contract from BAPCO Refining B.S.C. to manage the Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant (IWTP) at Bahrain’s BAPCO Refinery.

The IWTP, equipped with Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) technology, can treat 4,400 US gallons of wastewater per minute, ensuring compliance with stringent environmental and industrial standards. The contract, spanning seven years, further strengthens WABAG’s footprint in Bahrain, where it has been operating the 40 MLD Madinat Salman Sewage Treatment Plant since 2018.

“This order win is a testament to our technological excellence and unwavering commitment to delivering world-class water solutions to the oil and gas sector globally,” said Srinivasan K, General Manager – Middle East Regional Headquarters at WABAG.

The deal reinforces WABAG’s leadership in water treatment solutions for the oil and gas industry and expands its presence in the Middle East.
