Maharashtra govt to finalise Narimon Point make over plan

The Maharashtra Government is finalising a proposal for the makeover of Nariman Point in Mumbai.

The government has chalked out a plan worth Rs 3,500 crore. As per the proposal, the entire area around Nariman Point will be recast into a well-connected hub.

The plan includes building a food court near Maker Chambers, a play area for children near NCPA and a Business Gateway near the waterfront. The towers that will house judges and ministers will be built at a cost of Rs 700 crore, while Rs 100 crore has been set aside for developing 1.2 kms along the waterfront. The plan has been prepared by consultants PK Das & Associates.

The government also working on a plan to redevelop prime locations in Mumbai, including Nariman Point, Government Colony at Bandra (East), and Worli Dairy.

The proposal is likely to be executed by the BMC and MMRDA.
