Noida corridor to get metro service by August end

New Delhi: Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will start full fledged service on the Noida corridor by end of August 2009.

It had earlier planned to commission the Noida corridor in two phases. The first phase to cover the Yamuna Bank-New Ashok Nagar by June and the second one from Ashok Nagar-Noida city centre in October.

DMRC will begin commissioning the line after getting delivery of nine metro trains that are scheduled to be delivered by end of June 2009.

Presently, DMRC is also working on two lines comprising of Yamuna Bank-Anand Vihar ISBT and Inderlok-Mundka routes. The Yamuna Bank-Anand Vihar ISBT line will be operational by December 2009 whereas the Inderlok-Mundka line will be opened after the arrival of new coaches from BEML, Bangalore.

Metro train is also being manufactured at a new factory near Baroda in Gujarat and the first train will rollout by the end of May and delivered to DMRC.
