Pickyourtrail Expands Retail Footprint, Announces Plans for 50 New Stores in Next 2 Years
Travel-tech startup Pickyourtrail is set to expand its offline presence by opening more than 50 retail stores across India within the next 12-18 months. Co-Founder Hari Ganapathy stated that the company expects its offline channels to contribute one-third of its overall revenue as it focuses on enhancing customer trust and accessibility.
Currently, Pickyourtrail operates stores in cities such as Coimbatore, Trivandrum, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, and Jaipur. It plans to broaden its reach to include cities like Vizag, Pune, Kochi, Amritsar, Indore, and Bhopal, targeting increased demand from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, driven by rising incomes and better connectivity. "Airports in cities like Patna, Kochi, and Coimbatore are seeing significant improvements in connectivity, which is a key factor driving this expansion," said Ganapathy.
The startup, initially focused on digital growth, has shifted its strategy to include retail expansion, particularly in cities with disposable income and proximity to airport hubs. Ganapathy explained, "International trips often require reassurance and trust, which physical stores can help build with customers."
In addition to its domestic growth, Pickyourtrail is eyeing international expansion. With a store already established in Dubai, the company aims to tap into travelers from the US, UK, and Australia. "Global inquiries and sales currently account for 5% of our monthly transactions, and we plan to explore more English-speaking markets like Australia and the US," Ganapathy said.
The Chennai-based startup, backed by investors including Cred CEO Kunal Shah and Adit Parekh, is also considering an IPO in the future. However, its immediate focus remains on delivering exceptional travel experiences and sustainable growth.
