Haryana Approves 30 Water Supply Projects
Haryana's Chief Minister, Manohar Lal Khattar, has granted administrative approval for 30 water supply projects amounting to Rs. 1,018 crore and nine sewerage projects valued at Rs. 283 crore. These projects are set to benefit 15 districts, including Ambala, Hisar, Kurukshetra, Jind, Panchkula, Rohtak, Fatehabad, Sirsa, Charkhi Dadri, Yamunanagar, Karnal, Bhiwani, Mahendragarh, Kaithal, and Palwal.
These initiatives will be executed by the Public Health Engineering Department as part of the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0 mission. Chief Minister Khattar also announced that an additional 18 water supply projects, exceeding Rs. 425 crore, will soon receive approval, further advancing the state's public health engineering sector.
In addition, administrative approval was given for the acquisition of land through e-Bhoomi to construct canal-based water works in Rania town of Sirsa. The Haryana government has allocated Rs 14.15 crore for this land purchase.
The approved sewerage projects encompass various initiatives, such as establishing a treatment system for sewage containing industrial wastewater in Yamunanagar and Jagadhari districts, involving an investment of Rs 193.58 crore. Furthermore, there are plans to reinforce the existing 800 mm and 1200 mm ID sewer line using CIPP (curved in place pipe) technology, starting from timber market chowk near Khera.
